About Jean-Baptiste Graftieaux

Jean-Baptiste Graftieaux Experienced executive, board advisor, chief compliance officer, and general manager focused on the financial sector. He has held leadership roles in traditional finance, fintech, payments, ecommerce, and crypto, building a wide array of skills and relationships that he’s now transferring into his role as Bitstamp’s CEO. Jean-Baptiste Graftieaux combines a wealth of experience in compliance and managing regulatory relationships with a passion for growth management and business development. His career has seen him take leadership roles in some of the biggest players in finance and ecommerce. Currently, he is taking charge of Bitstamp’s incredibly strong foundation and taking their global business to the next level. Before joining Bitstamp again in 2021 as CEO for Europe, and now Global CEO, JB had been the Executive and Chief Compliance Officer at the company in the years from 2014 to 2016. In his Bitstamp-off time, he was the Managing Director at eBay Europe, where he led their regulatory business operations for payments in Europe and spent five years on the board of directors of several eBay entities. Prior to his leadership role at eBay, JB worked at PayPal as the Executive and EMEA Chief Compliance Officer. In his first two years at Bitstamp, he was responsible for obtaining regulatory licenses for our EU-based business and operations. Jean-Baptiste also worked closely with legal and government relations teams to stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations. Jean-Baptiste Graftieaux has an Executive MBA from HEC Paris, a Master of Business Administration - MBA from Babson College, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Business Administration and Management from NEOMA Business School.
