Miranda McLean has over 20 years of experience in developing marketing strategies for financial services businesses. She led Marketing Strategy & Communications for companies like Thomson Financial, Standard & Poor’s, Equifax, and Reuters, before joining the Payments industry with Ukash in 2012. In 2015 Miranda joined Banking Circle (then Saxo Payments) as a founding member pre-launch and launched the business creating the brand identity and marketing strategy which took it to a multi-million-dollar business in less than three years. She’s also a prominent influencer in the payments space actively advocating for diversity and equality as she serves on the Executive Board of the European Women Payments Network.
Miranda McLean is an award-winning Marketing leader with more than 20 years’ experience in strategic and operational marketing in Financial Services and FinTech. Joining the business pre-launch, she led the creation, launch and development of the Banking Circle and Banking Circle Group brands globally, devising the marketing strategy and building a marketing function from the ground up.
Miranda McLean was heavily involved in all areas of getting the new business up and running and as such, I have more to offer than marketing expertise; I have first-hand experience of building a highly successful, respected and multi-award-winning business from its inception. I have also used this experience to benefit the smaller businesses acquired by Banking Circle Group, co-ordinating and supporting them and their marketing activities.
Proud to have also been responsible for successful marketing programmes for leading professional corporate brands including Equifax, LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters and Standard & Poor’s.
In addition to developing and managing marketing strategies globally for the brands Miranda McLean has worked with, Miranda is an expert across operational marketing disciplines, including positioning & messaging, content marketing, social media, PR, traditional and digital direct marketing and events in B2B markets, She has led the development of innovative branding projects, brand and product launches, data management, customer interaction and market research.
Most recently, Miranda McLean completed the Cambridge University Business Sustainability diploma recognising the importance and value of building sustainability into every part of a business. The key is to combine an operational discipline and skillset with an inherent understanding of how sustainability fits in a business model. She is am of the Project leaders for Project ESG for The Payments Association with a mission of educating the Payments and FinTech industry on the business imperative for having an ESG strategy and policy and how authentically embedding purpose into their organisations leads to business profitability and business resilience.
Miranda McLean is passionate about championing the skills and expertise of diverse and under-represented groups and sit on the executive board of European Women Payments Network (EWPN) a not-for-profit which supports diversity and inclusion across payments, banking and FinTech actively speaking at conferences, mentoring, and organising local events.
